September saw anglers entering The PENN sponsored "Biggest Bass of the Month" Competition in aid of charity.  This was to raise money for our good friend and popular Langstone Harbour Skipper, Spike Spears who has sadly been diagnosed with bone cancer. Unfortunately we lost several trips due to bad weather, but the nine completed bass trips resulted in £460 being raised. Best bass was 11lb 2oz and was caught by Claud Mauratsing

Best bass of the month for Claud Mauratsing at 11lb 2oz.  Officially weighed on the Quay at the end of the day.

Skipper Steve Porter pictured above faces a different challenge in November as part of a crew sailing a 67 foot yacht (pictured below) accross the Atlantic from Gran Canaria to Rio.  Click on the picture of the yacht below to visit the expeditions website and see the boats current location.
